Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting their side to be one of the busiest sides in the summer window this time around.
Indeed, after only managing a top four finish and no trophy last year there is certainly the suggestion that Pep Guardiola still needs to spend money in order to get the team into a shape that he wants.
Cash, then, could be on the hip from the club and so whilst we wait to see who he signs we thought it might be time to make the case for City to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich.
Kimmich is one of the brighter young talents to come through in Germany in recent years and Pep Guardiola is clearly aware of that.
Indeed, he was a massive fan of the youngster when he was in charge of the Bavarians and particularly enjoyed seeing him excel at both central midfield and full-back – a trait the Catalan boss seems to love.
What makes this deal a potential goer most of all, though, is the fact that the German did not play as much as he perhaps could have for the club last season.
Indeed, he may now feel that it is time to move if he is to fully reach his potential and there can be surely no better place for him to flourish than under the guidance of one of his biggest fans.
