READ: Nigeria’s Issues cannot be fixed by one man alone - Goodluck Jonathan

According to the former president, accusations and counter-accusations would not do any good to the country

- He refused to join issues with anyone as he noted that a lot has been said about the nation’s problems

- Goodluck Jonathan called for everyone to join forces to move Nigeria forward

Former president of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan has admitted that the country’s problems are too great for one man to handle.

According to reports, the former president made his comments through Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, ex-secretary to the federal government who spoke at the 5th Memorial Lecture of late Professor Celestine O. E. Onwuliri, on Friday, June 16.

According to Jonathan, all hands must be on deck to move Nigeria forward, and accusations and counter accusations would do no one any good.

In his words: “People have said a lot of things about the problems of Nigeria. There is no point joining issues with anybody, but all I can say is that no one person can solve the nation’s problems.”

The late Celestine Onwuliri was amongst those who were killed when a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft crashed in Lagos on Sunday, June 3, 2012.

The senator, who represented Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone from 1999 to 2003, slammed the former president saying he should bury his head in shame.

He said Jonathan need not blame anyone for his defeat but himself for allowing a lot of vices to thrive.
